To learn animation properly every student should be exposed to design, films, visualization, storytelling, experimental animation like Clay/Cutout along with a few essential software's like Photoshop, Flash (2D), Max/Maya (3D), ZBrush(3D), After Effects(Compositing) , Premier (Editing), Sound Forge (Audio Editing).
All software's are high end and take time and practice to master. At Seamedu each course is designed with a clear purpose, which includes the different software's and their importance in the learning process. New students to animation should keep in mind that there is absolutely no need to learn multiple 3d or 2d software's.
Primarily, you should have is a very very strong interest in animation and the readiness to learn the skills required to become a good animator.
Having said that, yes you do need basic art skills, enough for our training to take over and refine those skills to a high level. We believe that given time and the right guidance anybody can draw and we have proven it many times.
Then and then only will you be able to take your ideas to the computer. As somebody has rightly said Computers do not create animation, artists do! Animation studios want to hire people with knowledge of 3D software, but more importantly, strong fine-art skills & the ability to visualize ideas on paper along with computer skills get you the best job. The highest quality computer animation, seen in feature films, TV or video games, is all created by artists who understand these concepts and have a strong foundation in classical art / animation.
That is not a problem.
At Seamedu we teach every student the basics of design and drawing. We think that most people can draw decently if they are taught how to do it right. We have a very strong Design Basics, Sketching, Life drawing and Colour theory sessions.
Drawing used to play a big role in animation when everything was hand drawn. There was no other technology than Pencil & paper, but today because of the use of computers and digital media, things have become fast and different type of skills is needed.
Drawing is still needed but mostly for the 2d artists, 3d artists are expected to understand the basics of design to do their jobs well, but they are not expected to draw.
The two main entry points into animation are 2d & 3d.
If you watch or have a passion animation films, playing games, Watching film, cartoons, listening to music, acting, dance, writing, drawing then you are an ideal candidate to get into Animation, Visual effects & Gaming.2d & 3d are a matter of choice & aptitude, anyone can learn both or specialize in one.If you are good at design, that is if you have a good eye for colour, or you can sketch well then you can choose to work in 2d design/Pre-Production .In 2d you can choose to become an expert in designing Backgrounds/Environment, Concept & Characters, 2d animators. In 3d you can choose Modelling, Texturing, Animation, Rigging and Lighting using tools like Maya, MAX, ZBrush etcAt Seamedu we teach you from the basics, even if you can't draw or don't know any of the software's, that is ok. If you have the interest and willing to practice, then you can learn both.
It depends upon what the student prefers and likes to do. Also if you like something you show more aptitude and confidence in doing the same.
At Seamedu, our programs have a right mix of both 2d & 3d and We encourage our students to pick one skill from both 2d & 3d.
So it is not about 2d or 3d it is about what you are good at and how you can do that successfully. So if you have an aptitude for 2d, then one should strive to excel in 2d, regardless of what anybody else is doing.
Animation for Films (Shorts, Feature Film, Ad Films, Commercials etc), Gaming (Game contend developer) are the two major streams.
Those who are like the film side of things like cartoons, animated shorts and films should opt for a career in animation.
Those with a liking for games and interested in the area of 3d & 2d game art should go for 3d/2d Game Art Design.
Visual Effects is needed in all the visual mediums that is Films , TV & Games. Thus people who are interested in working in Visual Effects can find opportunities in any of these fields.
At Seamedu we let the student take an aptitude test which along with an interview helps both us and the student come to the right conclusion on what course to take.

It is both. Actually it depends on your commitment. The classes are held 3 hours every alternate days. But we have a lot of assignment and hence the students are in the institute everyday for 4- hours.
Yes we do! Based on your assignments.
The faculty is less as a person of authority who leads and controls but rather works as a friend, a mentor, a facilitator, or an experienced companion.
At the end of the training at Seamedu, you would be fully equipped to enter the professional world of Media & Entertainment
and make a successful career!
Looking forward to you becoming part of the Seamedu family and seeing you at our campus soon!
With Best Wishes ,
