The Game Development batch has been working on larger scale projects for past few months. They’ve come quite far and now they have decent prototypes that can be showcased. Now this series of blogs covers their experience through these individual projects.
The following video is about the first student’s game, B.R.E.A.C.H. (Bureau of Research, Extraction and Crime Handling as he likes to expand it).
He chose the FPS genre for the project because he liked playing them a lot. But this was a challenge as he had never done something of this scale before. In the video he talks about the experiences he went through while making this prototype. The prototype is about this special task force, formed by the Indian Government in 1971, called the B.R.E.A.C.H. The premise is such, that the agents of this agency specialize in extracting confidential intel with the use of modern technology. They also keep track of rival countries’ military plans. In the prototype, you play the agent looking to infiltrate an enemy organisation and want to plant a virus programmed by B.R.E.A.C.H., into their network so that it can be torn apart from the inside. One rival organisation has discovered evidence proving the existence of B.R.E.A.C.H& its activities. So B.R.E.A.C.H sends their agent to destroy this group . But, something goes wrong during the mission.. A mere walk in the park for a B.R.E.A.C.H agent turns into an unexpected nightmare.
As mentioned before, making this prototype was no easy task. That is why even though this was an individual project he was given a couple of artists from the BFA Batch, who helped him build the 3D – Environment he used in the prototype. This small team faced some difficulties in the process, but the video explains the team’s experience better so moving on, this was the first game in the series of projects by the Game Development Batch. Stay tuned for more videos about games in the series soon…
