Yes, the institute’s course structure is designed in such a way that any individual with little or no film making experience can opt for the program.

Students enrolled in Seamedu’s Film Making course will have hands-on experience on Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Adobe Premiere. Students who pursue specialization in editing will also learn how to use other post-production software such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Soundtrack Pro.

The institute maintains the best ratio of equipment to students for their practicals or project. Depending on the program, students regularly check-out their camera and lighting packages on a daily basis, for weekend shoots, or for 1-2 weeks on longer productions. The editing lab is open till late night for students.

All classes at the Seamedu institute are designed with a practical approach. We believe in the concept of ‘learning by doing’. Our students shoot films on regular basis with professional equipment. The course structure is unique as we provide specialization from day one. We conduct workshops, seminars, industry visits and guest lectures by professionals on a regular basis. For our specialization courses, the practical-to-theory ratio is approximately 70:30 (percent).

Our students learn both the theory as well as the practical aspects of filmmaking, enabling them to hit the ground running in the industry upon completion of this course.

These courses prepare you for a range of careers in the film industry. You may start as an assistant in a particular aspect of the industry and work your way up. Graduates may go on to specialize in a particular aspect of Film Making that they are passionate about.

An alumnus of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India – Pune, Arun completed his post-graduation at FTII with motion picture photography as his specialization. With more than two decades of industry experience as a Cinematographer and as a Producer he has more than 300 projects like television commercials, television shows, Music videos, corporate films, Short films and documentaries to his credit. He has also been a guest resource faculty at Xaviers Institute for communication and Saint Pauls Institute – Mumbai and has conducted workshops for aspiring Videographers and Cinematographers at Mumbai, Goa and Rajkot. He was also the curriculum co-ordinator and Faculty Cinematography at the Vinsan Academy of Film and Media.

Dinesh has completed his Masters in Film Studies from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2015 and has been in education since the past 7 years. Collectively, he has 10 years of work experience which includes 3 years of working in the media industry. Previously, he has worked as an Assistant Professor & Guest lecturer in various colleges across Mumbai which includes KC College, K.P. Hinduja, Nationals, DGMC, Thadomal Shahani Centre for Media and Communication (TSCMC) and conducted workshops at MIT - Pune, Viva College and Wellingkar Institute, Mumbai. His core subjects include Film Theory and Appreciation, Media and Culture, Film Studies, History of Non-Fiction Cinema, Visual Communication, Research Techniques, Critical Thinking, Writing for Moving Images and Direction for Films.

Jaikishan is a persuasive and creative individual who can hit the ground running. His background is primarily in Academics with 7+ years of experience in institutes like Assam Don Bosco University and SRM University. He completed his Masters from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He directed and acted in a number of Short Films both in India and in the UK, some of them revolving around social issues and has received excellent reviews and awards. He is also a fact-checker/trainer from Google News Initiative - India training network.

Jijin has completed his Bachelors in Visual Communication from Calicut University and Masters in Film Studies from Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University Kerala. Overall, he has 2 years of experience in the film industry as an Assistant Cinematographer and has worked as a still photographer in two movies in Malayalam. He was part of many other short films and documentaries as director and cinematographer. For 2 years, he has been in the teaching profession where he worked as a Faculty of Photography at ICAT Design and Media College in Hyderabad. His core area of teaching and expertise includes Cinematography, Photography, Direction and Video Editing.

Dr. Soumik Pal is a film and media studies scholar who completed his PhD from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He writes on Indian cinema, popular culture, stardom, masculinity and neoliberalism. He has written for journals like Studies in South Asian Film and Media, Jump Cut: A Review of Contemporary Media, Norma: International Journal for Masculinity Studies. He has also worked in the digital advertising industry as an account planner.

Bijaya Kumar Jena is a Film Institute graduate from Biju Pattanaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha having specialisation in Cinematography .He has done his Master in Journalism and Mass Communication from Chaudhury Charan Singh University and pursuing PH.D. from LPU .He is a writer , director .poet and Cinematographer having an experience of more than 22 years in the field of film ,TV ,media and education sector .Before coming to teaching he was into film making in Mumbai and Odia film industry .He has worked as a cinematographer in many Hindi feature films and also written and directed couple of Odia feature films, documentaries .He has also worked as DOP in many advertisement films .He has worked as Professor In different universities and colleges like Chandigarh University and Lovely Professional University .He is quite connected to the film industry and works as DOP in ad-films and feature films in Mumbai .As a poet many of his poetries have been published in different newspapers and magazines .He has also written dialogues in two Odia feature films besides writing the screenplay for the same .He was also a visiting professor in some of the media and film institutes and colleges in Mumbai and many times conducted workshops and external examiner in various film institutes .
